Tim Timebuster is the naive and excitable nephew of Dr. Cyber, and he works with his crazy uncle as an assistant in time travel. He makes his official debut in Out of His Time and is planned to appear in A Future in the Past. He originates from the 1995 Timebuster comic, which became the basis of the 1996 LEGO Time Cruisers product line.

Physical Description[]

Tim Timebuster is dressed casually, with a blue baseball cap, a green shirt with white sleeves and a red "T" logo, and blue pants. His black hair is mostly kept underneath his cap. His youthful face has freckles on his cheeks and large eyes with noticeable sclera. Curiously, unlike most LEGO minifigures, he is portrayed as having a visible nose.

Characteristics[]

The nephew to Dr. Cyber and his partner in time travel, Tim Timebuster was once a bartender in a New Hampshire bar, until Stanley Larson burned the building to the ground. Now, as Dr. Cyber's first assistant, he's having a blast traveling through time and testing Dr. Cyber's crazy time machines, which has also given him some limited skills as a mechanic, as well as way too many puns.

Before Mustache Maniacs Film Co.[]

Tim Timebuster originates from the 1995 Timebuster comics in Klick Magazine, where he was originally known as Max Timebuster; the name "Max Timebuster" also belonged to a time-traveling criminal from the LEGO Town product line in 1993-1994, which may or may not reflect the same character. As the grandson of Professor Nockelberg, Max accidentally uses a time-traveling car to go on adventures through multiple LEGO settings. In 1996, the Timebuster comics were adapted into the LEGO Time Cruisers product line, which redesigned Max Timebuster as Tim and released him as a physical minifigure; this goofier take on the character serves as the inspiration for his depiction in the Official Cinematic Universe. To better match the new sets, the Timebuster comic had Max Timebuster rename himself "Tim Timebuster" (or, on at least one occasion, "Tim Time Cruiser") after his time machine car is magically transformed into the Flying Time Vessel. When Timebuster was rebooted in 1997's World Club Magazine as Time Cruisers, writer/illustrator Kim Hagen referred to Tim as Dr. Cyber's nephew in this new continuity (a fact considered canonical by Mustache Maniacs Film Co.); by extension, one Extreme Team-themed comic in 1998 established that Tim would also be related to Professor Articus (which is not considered canonical by Mustache Maniacs Film Co.).

Appearances[]

Trivia[]

  • Tim's first appearance in a Mustache Maniacs Film Co. work was Time Chase in 2005. However, this story canonically takes place in Dimension 201; all later appearances are in the main Official Cinematic Universe.
