  • Game Play Time: 3 min.
  • Game Type: Side-Scrolling Obstacle Dodger
  • Number of Players: 1

Contents Edit

Zoo Flight, being a video game, has no physical contents, but does include three levels of game play. These three levels are zoo cages, food court, and gift shop.

The game also features a multitude of obstacles to avoid, including acorns, trash cans, bushes, toy racks, and cookies. Bananas and batteries are also featured as items to pick up. Either winning or losing the game shows an appropriate clip from An Afternoon at the Zoo.

Features and Game Play Edit

The game operates much like a traditional side-scrolling obstacle dodger game. According to the instructions page, the segway was controlled with the up and down arrow keys, allowing the player to dodge a multitude of obstacles, including acorns, trash cans, information panels, bushes, toy racks, book shelves, and cookies. These obstacles either advanced at the player from the front, above, or behind.

In the game, two special pick-up items could be collected by the player: bananas and batteries. Bananas give the player extra lives, with up to three, as indicated in the provided Banana Life counter. Batteries speed up your segway.

In the last level, the Rude Dad challenges you to a boss fight as he throws cookies at you from behind a cash register, forcing the player to watch the spaces ahead and behind.

The game ends when the player either loses all of the indicated Banana Life or escapes the zoo. When the game ends, an appropriate cut scene plays. Winners have the option to download a reward of two masks themed to the Rude Dad and the father chimp.

Trivia Edit

  • This game was primarily based on the song Chimpanzee Riding on a Segway, which became an ear-worm during post production for An Afternoon at the Zoo.
  • The reason this game was cancelled was because the extensive action scripting required failed to work properly.
  • The masks that were made for this game's prize are now available publicly on the "Library" page of the Mustache Maniacs Film Co. Website.
  • For some time, an alternate version of this game was developed, which would have used YouTube annotations to control the segway.
  • This was Mustache Maniacs Film Co. Gaming's first attempt at making a Flash game.
